PORT HURON, Mich. – The Icehawks and the Diabetes Care Educational Association are teaming up to present a Celebrity Charity Softball game on June 22.
The game will feature Port Huron Icehawks players, former members of Detroit sports teams such as the Red Wings, Tigers and Lions and members of the media.
The roster includes Icehawks owner Larry Kinney, Icehawks coach Stan Drulia, Icehawks players Jamie Lovell, Larry Sterling, and Jeremy Tucker, former Detroit Tiger Milt Wilcox, the Voice of the Detroit Red Wings Karen Newman, former Detroit Red Wings Shawn Burr, John Ogrodnick, and Paul Ysebaert, former Washington Capitals Todd Bidner and Pat Peake, and former Boston Bruin and Port Huron Border Cat Kraig Neinhuis.
All player appeareances are subject to change.
Game time is 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 22 at Memorial Stadium in Port Huron. Tickets are just $5 and available at the Icehawks office, 325 Huron Ave., Port Huron, or at the gates based on availability. Gates open at 11:45 a.m.
All proceeds will go the Diabetes Care Association, an organization that aims to help people of all ages control diabetes through education.
“The Icehawks are proud to partner with the Diabetes Care Association to raise money for a worthy cause,” Icehawks Vice President and Business Manager Dave Goetze said.
